Philosophy of Physics Seminar (Thursday - Week 7, TT19)

Philosophy of Physics

The notion of probability in physics continues to be mired in controversy. In this talk I defend a version of the subjective approach, both in classical statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics. In relation to Everettian quantum mechanics, this puts me closer to Deutsch’s understanding of the significance of the Deutsch-Wallace theorem than that of Wallace and Saunders.
